When it comes to your water heater chances are you’ve had your fair share of problems over the years, right? Maybe you’re even thinking about throwing in the towel and getting a new water heater. But should you? Should you be considering an upgraded system and especially a tankless water heater instead of just getting water heater repair? Well, if you want the best for your San Antonio, TX home (and yourself) you absolutely should.

Your Heat Is a Little Too Hot

With a traditional water heater, when something goes wrong and needs water heater repair, you can actually get scalding hot water every so often. That’s actually not possible with a tankless water heater because it doesn’t have the same type of system. With a traditional water heater there’s a lot of water stored in the tank. The hot water is pushed to the top until all of the water is heated and then it is stored or used. When you’re using the hot water, however, it can be pulled out in quick bursts, which means that cold water also floods in over those hot bursts.

When the cold water comes in the heating element kicks on to get the water hot again. And that can cause the hot water at the top of the tank to get overheated. Then you end up with extra-hot water. With a tankless water heater there’s no storage of water, which means you’re not going to have to worry about that water getting scalded. It’s only heated to a set temperature as it flows through the unit. It can’t get any hotter and it can’t stay any colder because the system only has so long to heat.

Your Heat Doesn’t Always Work Like You Want

On the other hand, you can absolutely run out of hot water with a traditional water heater (even if it’s not something that requires water heater repair). If you’re noticing that your showers always end on a cold note it could mean that you need water heater repair. It could also mean that you are just suffering from one of the normal problems that comes with having a standard tank water heater. They will eventually run out of hot water because they just can’t keep up. As much water as they pull in and heat, they can’t do it fast enough to keep up with whatever is happening.

With a tankless water heater, they don’t run out of water. Now, you might not be able to use hot water for multiple things at the same time, but whatever you’re doing, you’re not going to run out of hot water while you’re doing it. That’s definitely going to be a benefit with a tankless water heater. After all, who wants to run out of hot water while they’re in the middle of the dishes, or the laundry, or a shower? You’d rather have just the right amount of water for all of those tasks, right?

Your Bill Is Outrageous

Did you know that a tankless water heater will actually save you a bundle? It’s not just about saving on your water heater repair, though you will do that too. You’re also going to have lower costs overall. That’s because a tankless water heater only heats water while you’re using it. It doesn’t waste energy trying to heat water ahead of time and then trying to keep it hot. That’s what a traditional water heater does and it’s relatively efficient for getting hot water, but not for keeping your bills down.

When you’re looking to reduce those water heater repair bills and you want to make sure that you’re getting plenty of water at the same time you’re going to need that tankless water heater. They have fewer moving parts and none of the storage that your traditional water heater needs. That’s going to be a whole lot better for you and it’s going to make things a lot easier for you to save money at the same time. So, make sure you’re at least looking into a tankless water heater, especially the next time you need water heater repair.

You Need the Space

Have you ever looked at the amount of space that your current water heater takes up? It’s probably more than you thought it was and that’s why it’s so important for you to look closer. A tankless water heater is going to take up practically no space at all. After all, your current water heater takes up all of that space because the tank is so large. If you took that tank away entirely and removed at that storage then you’re going to have a whole lot bigger space in your basement, crawlspace or wherever your water heater is.

With a tankless water heater, it’s also mounted to the wall. That means you don’t have to worry about your floor space. You can use that floor space for anything that you want and you’re going to have a whole lot better spacing in your home. If it’s in your basement you can easily store items in the space that was once taken up with your water heater. You’re also going to have all of the other benefits that we mentioned. So, you’re going to get a whole lot of great things out of just one small change.
